nationwide airport development and improvements recommendation would include 22 new airports in the state and Improvements to more than 50 others The list of projects includes improvements to the Greensboro Winston Salem High Point Airport and Douglas Municipal Airport in Charlotte It also includes construction of smaller airports for Charlotte and Greensboro Winston Salem-High Point Others would be at Brevard Bryson City Concord Franklin Jacksonville Kings Mountain Lexington Lincolnton Louis-burg Ocraco*ke Oxford Plymouth Beidsville Roxboro Ruth-erfordton Smithfield Tarboro Taylorsville Waynesville and West Jefferson No specific funds were earmarked for any of the new airports nor were specific appropriations set aside for the improvements to existing facilities An FAA spokesman said
